They watched, and were happy,
Hopeful, and fascinated.
The children grew strong,
And oh so beautiful.
And it was so good.
But then, something changed,
Something felt wrong,
Out of balance.
They worried, murmured,
Wanted to help.
They saw Adam, happy,
Enjoying the beauty of the Garden.
And Eve was growing,
So beautiful now.
Why did he not notice?
They saw Lucifer with Eve,
Growing closer and closer.
She smiled at him,
He touched her hair.
Something was wrong!
They went to the Creator,
“We are worried,” they said,
“What can we do?”
“Serve them, when they ask,”
Was the Creator’s reply.
But the children never asked.
Adam left Eve alone.
And Lucifer tempted her,
Persuading her to join him.
And they could only watch.
Then Eve went to Adam.
He noticed her at last,
And when she asked, he followed.
They covered themselves with fig leaves.
Surely this was wrong!
The Creator came at last,
“You must leave the Garden!”
The angels waited at the entrance.
Lucifer said, “Bow down to me,
And you will enjoy my beautiful world.”
Some chose Satan’s path.
Others looked for the Creator.
They found an ocean of tears.
Hopes dashed, dreams unfulfilled,
They all wept.
